Stand Out · Car wrap pricing

What a car wrap actually costs in Cape Town.

A straight explanation of what drives vehicle wrapping prices, so you can compare quotes properly and know what to send us for an accurate number.

Large format printing and signage production for Cape Town businesses

The short answer

Why nobody can quote your wrap from a price list

Car wrapping is priced on material and labour, and both change with the vehicle in front of us. A bakkie has more square metres than a hatchback, a van has flat panels that wrap quickly while a modern sedan has curves and recesses that take longer, and vinyl grades differ in cost and lifespan. A published single price would be wrong for most vehicles that arrive.

What we can do is be clear about the levers. Once you know which five factors move the number, you can decide where to spend and where to hold back, and you can compare two quotes on the same terms instead of picking the lower figure and finding out later what was left out.

Cost drivers

The five things that set your price

Size

Vehicle size and shape

Square metres of vinyl and the number of curves, recesses and handles to work around. Panel vans wrap faster per square metre than curved sedans.

Coverage

Full wrap, partial wrap or decals

Coverage is the biggest single lever. Sides and rear only, or logo and contact details only, both cut material and fitting time sharply.

Material

Vinyl grade and finish

Cast versus calendared film, gloss, matte or satin, laminate for UV protection, and reflective or perforated window vinyl where needed.

Condition

Paint and panel condition

Sound original paint is straightforward. Resprays, rust, dents and lifting old branding add preparation time or make some panels unsuitable.

Design

Artwork and design time

Print-ready vector artwork keeps design short. Rebuilding a logo or laying out a new vehicle design from scratch is separate work.

Volume

Number of vehicles

A fleet designed once and applied across several vehicles is more efficient per vehicle than one-off jobs designed individually.

Getting a real number

How we quote your vehicle

  1. 01

    Send the vehicle details

Make, model, year and photographs of every panel you want covered, including any existing branding still on the vehicle.

  2. 02

    Confirm the coverage

We talk through full wrap, partial wrap or decals against what you want the vehicle to achieve and what you are prepared to spend.

  3. 03

    Specify material and design

Vinyl, finish and laminate are matched to how the vehicle is used, and we confirm whether artwork is ready or needs work.

  4. 04

    Fixed quote and dates

You get one price for your vehicle with the material and fitting included, plus the dates the vehicle needs to be with us.

Compare quotes properly

Ask every supplier these questions

  • Which vinyl brand and grade is quoted, and is it laminated?
  • Is the quote a full wrap or selected panels only?
  • Is design and artwork setup included or billed separately?
  • Are handles, bumpers or mirrors removed for cleaner edges?
  • How long is the vehicle off the road?
  • What happens if a panel lifts after fitting?

Value, not just price

A wrap is advertising space you already pay for

You are already paying for the vehicle, the insurance and the fuel. Branding it is the only additional cost, and it keeps working every time the vehicle is parked outside a job or sitting in traffic. Judged against a month of paid ads, a wrap that lasts years usually looks different on the numbers.

That is also why the cheapest quote is rarely the right one. Thin unlaminated film on a vehicle that lives outdoors in the Cape sun fades and lifts, and refitting costs more than specifying correctly once.

Car wrap pricing questions

There is no single figure. The price is set by the size of the vehicle, how many panels are covered, the vinyl and finish specified, the condition of the paintwork and whether new artwork has to be designed. A small hatchback with door decals and a panel van in a full printed wrap sit at opposite ends of that range, which is why we quote per vehicle instead of publishing one number.
