Stand Out · Signage pricing
What business signage costs in Cape Town.
Sign types, what moves the price, and the questions to ask signage companies before you sign anything off.

The short answer
Signage is priced on the build, not on the square metre
Two signs the same size can differ several times in price. A flat printed panel is one material and a few fixings. Illuminated lettering is fabricated, wired, tested and installed with power. The wall, the height and the access all change the fitting side of the number before any material is cut.
So instead of a price list that would mislead you, here is what each sign type involves and what pushes the cost up or down. Bring that to any quote, including ours, and you will know exactly what you are comparing.

Price drivers
What moves a signage quote up or down
- Sign type and how much fabrication it needs
- Overall size and the substrate specified
- Whether print is laminated against sun and rain
- Illumination, wiring and access to power
- Installation height, wall material and access equipment
- Landlord or municipal approval work

How we quote
From site photographs to a fitted sign
- 01
Site details
Photographs of the shopfront, the available width and height, the wall material and any centre signage rules you have been given.
- 02
Recommend the sign
We propose the sign type that suits your frontage, foot traffic and budget instead of quoting the most expensive option by default.
- 03
Artwork and approval
Layout is built from your brand files, then sent for your sign-off and, where needed, for landlord or council approval.
- 04
Manufacture and install
Fabrication, delivery and fitting are scheduled together, with installation and clean-up included in the quoted price.
Cheapest is not always cheapest
Where low signage quotes usually cut corners
Unlaminated print fades within a season in the Cape sun. Thin substrate warps. Non-rated LEDs fail unevenly and leave dark patches in your name. Fitting excluded from the quote becomes an invoice later.
A sign that is specified correctly stays legible for years and keeps sending people through the door, which is the only measure that matters. We would rather explain the trade-off now than replace the sign in eighteen months.

Signage pricing questions
It depends on the sign type and the wall it goes on. A printed panel above a door, illuminated lettering, a lightbox and a fabricated three-dimensional sign are different builds with different materials, fitting methods and installation requirements, so each is priced on its own rather than off a list.
Printed or vinyl-cut window graphics and a flat printed panel above the entrance give you the most visibility for the least money. Lettering on glass, an A-frame and a well-made banner cover the basics while you build up to a permanent illuminated sign.
Often yes. Shopping centres and business parks usually have signage rules covering size, position and illumination, and some signs need municipal approval. We raise this before manufacturing so a sign is not built and then rejected.
Ours states it explicitly. Installation cost changes with height, access, the wall material and whether power has to be run for an illuminated sign, so a quote that omits fitting is not comparable to one that includes it.
Compare the substrate and its thickness, whether print is laminated for UV protection, the illumination type and its warranty, whether installation and any approval work is included, and how long manufacturing takes. Those five points explain most price gaps.
It should. We work from the same logo files, colours and typography used on your print, vehicle branding and website so the shopfront, the bakkie and the invoice all read as one business.
